During the first 2019 National Drug Take Back, the Jonesboro Police Department collected 612.4 pounds of unwanted, unneeded, unused, and expired medications.
These Drug Take Back Days not only get the public to dispose of unused or expired medications, they provide a platform to further educate the public on numerous topics concerning the Opioid Epidemic and the importance of proper disposal of medications.
There are more than 200 medical drop-box locations throughout the state, including the majority of law enforcement agencies. One of these drop-boxes is located at the Jonesboro Police Department at 1001 S Church St in Jonesboro. The drop-box is secure, available 24/7, and is emptied daily.
JPD is proud to help our community dispose of unneeded medication to help combat prescription drug abuse.
