Arrest made in Armed Robbery in Jonesboro

Another arrest has been made in relation to the armed robbery that occurred on March 5 at the Exxon station located at 1325 S Caraway Rd in Jonesboro.

Andrew Williams entered the Exxon station with a firearm and quickly moved to the area behind the register. Williams began going through cabinets behind the counter and located a bag under the register that contained $10,000 cash.

During the encounter, the cashier, Latoya Cannon, stood behind Williams with her hands in the air. She repeatedly told him “I don’t have anything” and to “Stop it”. Two witnesses entered the store and Cannon began to yell louder for him to “Stop it”. At that time, Williams gathered several items from behind the counter and walked out of the store.

Cannon asked the witnesses to leave, casually locked both sets of doors, and called the Jonesboro Police Department Desk Sergeant non-emergency number.

Williams was arrested on 5/10/19 for Aggravated Robbery, theft greater than $5000, and possession of a firearm.

Upon further investigation, JPD Detectives uncovered information that led to Cannon being very much a part of the planning and execution of the robbery.

Cannon was arrested on 5/29/19 and was transported to CCDC to await Thursday's probable cause hearing. She has been charged with Aggravated Robbery and Theft greater than $5000.
