Jonesboro Police Investigates Homicide on Floyd Street

A woman was reported missing around 6:46 p.m. yesterday afternoon in northwest Jonesboro.  Officers with the Jonesboro Police Department responded to the 1300 block of Floyd Street in reference to the disappearance of Felecia Channell, age 33 of Jonesboro. A neighbor advised officers that she had not seen Ms. Channell since early morning and she had not picked up her children from school. A missing person report was taken by the officers and they cleared the scene.

 Officers were again dispatched to the neighborhood around 7:30 p.m. after a family member had gained entry into the locked home and discovered the body of Felecia in the floor of her bedroom. CID was called in to investigate. Based on evidence collected at the scene, the death is being investigated as a homicide. Her body has been sent to the State Crime Lab to determine the cause of death.

 No arrest has been made at this time. This is still an active and ongoing investigation.
